Kelvin Pearce was diving back in the 1980s and fell in love with the privilege of diving. Kelvin said, “I love diving and the journey it takes you on to finally get to that dive site! All the planning, preparation and hard work makes you realise what a great privilege and quite frankly life changing thing scuba diving actually is. So, I wanted an equally grand, robust, and prestigious logbook to record my amazing memories in. So, I could look back through the years and remember each and every one of those very special moments I had that we call diving. I came up with my final copy of LOG-it in 1988 (probably when you were born)!” (Actually, Kelvin that is exactly when I was born).
Janet and Justin took over from Kelvin on 17th January 2006. Changes they made were transferring to navy ink rather than grey, they added a lot more info to the ‘Personal Details’ page i.e. date of last medical, blood group and allergies. They also enlarged the logo on the front cover. They chose a leather effect cover for a more textured and smarter look, added a signature and stamp area, and made more stitched sections with fewer pages to each section to strengthen the logbook even further. Janet said, “We sold to dive shops and individuals across the UK from The Orkneys to Cornwall and Kent. We even sold to Eire, Denmark, Gibraltar, France, the USA, and New Zealand. Young scientist divers were using LOG-it in Antarctica working for British Antarctic Survey (BAS). We owned it for 17 and a half years”! Wow! Janet said, “We’re very fond of LOG-it having had it for such a long time. When we spoke to and met you Dan, we very quickly realised you loved LOG-it too. You are incredibly dedicated to everything you do and obviously had amazing grit and determination. To top that you have superb engaging qualities and a total ‘joie de vivre’. You make things work! We have never met anyone with such energy!”
New owner Dan (Wheelsdan) and his wife Eve took over LOG-it on 30th September 2023. Dan said, “I bought a LOG-it book back in 2018 and thought wow what a well-developed, easy to use and understand book. Not only was it awesome inside it was very nice looking and extremely well made from the outside too!” The LOG-it book is made and printed here in the UK! The printers, Henry Ling in Dorchester, have made the LOG-it book for some considerable time now, and make a fantastic product so why change! We at LOG-it shop support UK businesses and will not settle for anything substandard. Our promise is our product is a part of us. We will never compromise on quality over cost. We will ensure our LOG-it community has a long lasting, hard wearing and top-level prestigious logbook that you can be proud to log your diving memories in. We encourage our LOG-it community to keep us up to date with any additions they would like to add. As well as that, we are active divers and instructors too, so we will endeavour to keep the LOG-it book up to date as well.
